FAQ
Find answers to some of the most common questions regarding the Official Colour Guide vote and areas of interest raised at present within the community. If your question is not covered below, please contact us and we will be happy to assist.
The votes are in! Thank you!
It was voted during the EGM on Monday 6th July to implement the new Official Colour Guide for future modernisation of lots, and the complex as a whole.
Gutters, downpipes and electrical boxes – Colorbond Evening Haze was chosen.
Roof areas – Colorbond Monument was chosen. Please ensure roofs are sealed professionally prior to repainting.
Garage fascias and roof side panels – Dulux Natural White was chosen.
Thank you to everyone who voted and understood our shared vision for the complex leading into the future. We can’t wait to see the results!
Will owners be required to repaint their property?
The vote did not fund any repainting works. The purpose was solely to establish an Official Colour Guide for repairs and future upgrades.
Any repainting or replacement works currently undertaken by owners is to be funded privately, by owners. There is no time limit to update your property, but should you choose to in the future, the Official Colour Guide will allow owners to restore and modernise their lot with the updated colour scheme.
Should the Body Corporate opt to fund painting or restoration works in the future, this would be presented to owners, and a separate motion, and a new vote would be required.
Where can I see examples?
Examples of the colour scheme can currently be seen within the complex. We encourage you to visit:
- Unit 6 – repainted front gutters and downpipes in Colorbond Evening Haze, with a white garage fascia.
- Unit 24 – has installed new powder-coated gutters in Colorbond Evening Haze.
These examples demonstrate how a more contemporary and timeless colour palette will enhance the appearance of individual lots while maintaining consistency across the complex.
What about the driveways?
The restoration and repainting of driveways has been discussed as a potential future project. No decision has been made at this stage.
Owners will be kept informed of any future proposals through official Body Corporate communications and updates published on this website.
What’s happening with individual water meters?
The proposal for the installation of individual water meters presented at the previous AGM had not been discussed by the Parrot Court Committee as a whole prior to being submitted.
At the time, an alternative quotation had already been obtained that was approximately 40% less than the amount proposed, offering greater potential savings for owners.
This matter will be reconsidered and presented to owners for discussion and voting at a future AGM.
Please note: If individual water meters are installed, each lot owner will continue to be responsible for the fixed water and sewerage access charges currently levied by the Gold Coast City Council. These charges are shown on Council rate notices as Water Access Charges and Sewerage Access Charges and currently total approximately $250 per lot per billing period.
The only component that may change under an individual metering system is the variable water consumption charge, which could result in either a reduction or an increase in costs depending on each lots actual water usage.
Gardener updates – July 2026
The Body Corporate has tasked a committee member to consult directly with lot owners regarding the maintenance and presentation of common property gardens and landscaped areas throughout the complex.
They will be in contact with all owners and welcome your feedback on how you would like to see works prioritised and carried out. This includes areas such as tree maintenance, garden upkeep, weed management, and the ongoing maintenance of the sloped area at the rear of the property.
Your input will help the committee better allocate available funds and resources, ensuring maintenance efforts are focused on the areas that matter most to owners.
